Coffee, Conversations and Counselor Camaraderie at g2 experience 2025

It’s been a few days since we wrapped up in Bengaluru, and the energy, laughter, and conversations are still buzzing. Two days, countless conversations, and yes — enough coffee to fuel a small country. The g2 Experience 2025 once again proved why it’s not “just another conference.” It’s our little ecosystem — equal parts reunion, brain-workout, and therapy session — where counselors, educators, and partners come together to pause, recharge, and remind ourselves why we love this work. Many of you reading this were with us (and probably still recovering from the non-stop sessions!). But for those who couldn’t, here’s your sneak peek — because the whole point of g2 is to make sure no counselor feels left out of the conversations shaping our field.

Day 1: Students Take the Mic
We began with a vibrant welcome — cultural performances, lamp lighting, and a bold move: inviting a student to deliver the keynote. That’s the Gen Next style — flipping the script and giving the mic to the people who matter most.

From there, the conversations flowed fast and deep. The panel on Parent–School Partnerships reminded us that building trust is messy but essential. A lightning session on Financing Higher Education gave us both a reality check and some creative options. New Zealand charmed the room as an emerging destination, while later sessions on empowering students for unpredictable futures and clarifying roles in student support left us scribbling notes, exchanging glances, and saying, “Yes — this is exactly what we needed to hear.”

By the evening, we’d learned plenty, laughed even more, and unofficially declared caffeine the true sponsor of g2.

Day 2: Surprises & Future-Ready Buzz
Day 2 opened with a surprise speech from Natalie at Ole Miss, and honestly, she stole the show. There’s something about a student voice cutting through the jargon that makes everyone sit up straighter — and Natalie did just that.

We then dived into how teachers are evolving from subject experts to life coaches — which felt less like a prediction and more like a gentle “finally, some recognition.” The spotlight then turned to AI in Education, where we talked less about fear and more about confidence, agency, and how to keep humans at the center of the tech conversation. Cue plenty of head-nods and more than a few nervous laughs. Post-lunch, the excitement peaked with the launch of Gen Next’s Future Ready platform — our commitment to building intentional learning paths for students in an uncertain world. And the day wrapped with high-energy g2 Talks, short and sharp enough to keep us awake even after dessert.

Why g2 Stays With Me
The sessions were insightful, yes. But the real magic was in the people. Old friendships renewed, new ones sparked, and countless hallway chats that mattered just as much as what was happening on stage. It felt less like networking and more like a family reunion — just with name tags. In true Gen Next style, it wasn’t about logos or institutions; it was about Sheela, Blair, Vinita, Shashank, Julie, Mohita, Vamsi, Bhupinder, Krutarth, Neha and so many others who filled the space with warmth, candor, and laughter.

That’s what makes g2 so special. It’s not just an event, it’s a reminder — that we are better together, that our voices matter, and that this community is worth celebrating.

So here’s to carrying the momentum forward, keeping the conversations alive, and creating even more memories ahead. Until next time, GenbuzZ fam.
